“So sorry! Couldn’t make last night’s city council meeting. I was simply too tired after a long day. But I did go to the Sun Tran public meeting at the main library, and got some info. Those folks are hopelessly disorganized. Meeting was scheduled for 11am and they didn’t turn up til 10 past, then spent a half hour setting up and put a newbie up front to talk, barely knew the issues and wouldn’t accept questions (didn’t know the answers) … kinda shows the respect they have for the fare-paying public. Not very many of us were there, they outnumbered us 2-1. Waste of our precious $$.”
Maria is talking about her experience with the Title 6 process that the Feds make the City do when they raise fares or significantly out routes. The meeting she refers to here is the first of 6 fake meetings the city bus bureaucrats are sponsoring to comply with Title 6.
Don’t waste your time with these – they don’t care. Instead come to the May 17 Public Hearing on the City budget. The Council will be voting on the fare increase. On that day, the BRU is planning a major action to say NO to Fare Increases outside of City Hall at 5 p.m.

“¡Lo siento mucho! Anoche no pude asistir a la junta del Consejo de la Ciudad. Estaba muy cansada. Pero fui a la junta del Sun Tran en la librería, y tengo información. Esa gente está muy desorganizada, la junta era a las 11am y empezaron 10 minutos tarde, les llevo media hora en acondicionar todo para la junta y pusieron a una principiante a hablar, apenas conocía del tema y no aceptaba preguntas (no sabía las respuestas)… enseñaron el respeto que le tienen a los que pagan la tarifa del transporte. No muchos de nosotros estábamos ahí, ellos nos superaron en números 2-1. Nuestro preciado dinero es desperdiciado.”
María está hablando de su experiencia con el proceso del título 6 que los Federales hacen que la Ciudad haga cuando aumentas las tarifas del camión o quitan rutas. La junta que aquí se refiere ella es la primera de 6 juntas falsas que los funcionarios del camión de la Ciudad están patrocinando para cumplir con el título 6.
No pierda su tiempo con esto- a ellos no les importa. Mejor venga a la junta el 17 de Mayo a escuchar el presupuesto de la Ciudad. El Consejo estará votando para aumentar las tarifas de los camiones. En ese día la Unión de Pasajeros del Camión están planeando una acción grande afuera del City Hall a las 5pm para decir NO al aumento de las tarifas.
