The greatest challenge of the day is: how to bring about a revolution of the heart, a revolution which has to start with each one of us?

– Dorothy Day

Who are we

Casa Maria  is a Catholic Worker House committed to nonviolence, voluntary poverty, prayer, and hospitality for the homeless, exiled, hungry, and forsaken. There are thousands of Catholic Worker communities around the nation, and internationally. Catholic Workers live simple lifestyles, serve the poor, and protest injustice, war, racism, and violence of all forms.

OUR MISSION

At Casa Maria, our Catholic Workers are devoted to acts of mercy (feeding and clothing those in need, visiting the ill, etc), living simple lives, and the search of justice for the poor. In each action, they use their faith and try to revive the faith in those who have lost it, making them understand that Christ has never left their lives.

“Casa Maria turns El Camino Motel into affordable housing complex”

“In that effort, Casa Maria purchased El Camino Motel, located off 4th Avenue and I-10 Frontage Road, with plans to turn it into an affordable housing complex.”
