Join our movement against gentrification!

The Barrio Neighborhood Coalition, which Casa Maria is a part of, has started a new iniative called “Mi Barrio No Se Vende” —aimed at “flippers” who harass homeowners to sell their properties. They buy houses “as is”, renovate them and flip at a much higher price. They target older communities with large lots. The outcome is that this activity leads to increased gentrification and displacement.

There are two prongs to our approach:

1.) Have yard signs in English and Spanish that read “Mi Barrio No Se Vende” or “Mi Casa No Se Vende”

2. Resource Booklets prepared by the Tucson Land Trust “Resource To Help You Stay In Your Community”.

These yard signs and booklets will be available at Casa Maria, 352 E 25th Street, Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 11:00am.

We are asking Tucsonans to stand with us by picking signage and placing it in their yards to get the message.

Thank you for your support,

 —BNC!
