As Casa Maria, we are always pleased to see the community organize against injustice. Unfortunately, in this case, the community is being led by misinformation that has only led to defamation and division. Casa Maria invests in properties to remove them from the speculative market, striving to house as many people as possible. Crucially, these properties are placed in a community land trust and are not owned by any one individual. We manage high-interest mortgages on most of our buildings, including motels that affordably house nearly 100 people. Our community knows our deep commitment to social justice; eviction is always our last and most difficult resort.
